THANK YOU! We couldn't have put together our reunion without the help of these sponsors. Their support through sponsorship money and donations of goods and services is much appreciated! These are mainly locally-owned businesses, or national companies that our classmates have ties to. We encourage you to support our sponsors as a Virginia Beach native and as a Cavalier!
Chicken wings are the closest thing to the world's perfect food. Okay, maybe that's a bit much, but when your belly wants wings, Buffalo Wild Wings is likely the first thing that comes to mind. Classmate Mike Shaver has delivered for us in a big way, with the new Oceanfront location at 356 Laskin Road hosting the June 19th dining fundraiser (see main page) and our Friday June 28 mixer. BWW is the perfect place for the triple play of wings, beer, and sports. With 16 signature sauces and 5 savory seasonings, B-Dubs has your taste buds covered. With domestic, imported, and craft beers on tap, their selection is great for what "ales" you. The next time you've got fun brewing, stop by Buffalo Wild Wings or call the new Oceanfront location at 757-321-7337 and raise a pint for Princess Anne's Class of 88!
Why are we putting on a happy face? Because of our classmate, Dr. Marni Voorhees. Her orthodontics expertise has helped thousands of people in Hampton Roads. And, her generous donation is helping our reunion sparkle! Marni and her colleagues at KlarVoorhees Orthodontics treat their patients like family. That includes our Class of '88 family, as many of them and their children have experienced outstanding results at KlarVoorhees Orthodontics. They have five locations, including one near you. We know that dental work can have you bracing for the worst, but don't worry--the friendly and knowledgeable office staff will work with you and your insurance company. So don't let orthodontics take a bite out of your budget, call KlarVoorhees Orthodontics at 757-495-3110 or visit them online today! (Website image)
Do you need trusted legal advice? We highly recommend Guidance Law Firm, P.C. and attorney Lamont Maddox. Lamont can counsel you on all business matters, including e-commerce, start-ups, and mergers. Guidance Law Firm is a great choice for your small business because Lamont truly understands the needs of small business owners. He was president and founder of his own small tech firm for over a decade before entering the legal field. We are proud to count Lamont among our classmates, as he serves on the boards of many business, community, and charitable groups and Hampton Roads Magazine recently listed him as one of their Top Attorneys Rising Stars! Chrisy Lawton Wilson is one of the rockin' stylists at The Image at Haygood--and she's one of our classmates. You don't get voted "Best of the Beach" by Virginian Pilot readers four times by chance--their team of a dozen professionals is nothing short of shear excellence! We'd like to thank both Chrisy and the store itself for donations of hair products and services. They do cuts, colors, styling, and even waxing to help you look your best. If you're so unhappy with your hair that you'd rather curl up and dye, visit The Image at 1039 Independence Blvd in VB. Call 757-460-0042 and ask for Chrisy! (Website photo)
RJR Art Studio has a heart for art! Owner Rick Ricketts is one of our talented classmates who's loved art since childhood. Whether it's photography, paintbrushes, or pixels, RJR can make those thoughts come to life. From buildings to beachfronts, sailboats to surfboards, you'll notice his online portfolio has a lot of Virginia Beach influence. And, we can all agree that being an artist is pretty neat. See for yourself online or call 757-572-9386 and tell him the PA Class of 88 sent ya! (Facebook image)
See that guy in the picture? If that's you (and we really hope it isn't), then make your one phone call to Hopkins Bail Bonds! Rodger Hopkins is a lifelong Tidewater resident (and a PA Class of '87 grad) who can help you when the long arm of the law leaves you short on options. For more than a decade, Rodger's been helping people who are in a pinch, and he's been voted "Best of the Beach" by Virginian Pilot readers two years in a row. The next time police make reservations for you at the Crossbar Hotel, call Hopkins Bail Bonds at 757-222-0000 and remember: If they get ya, Rodger's got ya! (Website photo)
Once you've called Rodger (see above), maybe you'll need a good attorney. We recommend Paul Merullo with the law firm Shuttleworth, Ruloff, Swain, Haddad, and Morecock in Virginia Beach. Paul, also a PA Class of '87 grad, can handle cases involving accident law, personal injury, DUIs, drug possession, and civil litigation. Need proof of his courtroom successes? Check out his blog, where he discusses recent cases. Paul's been serving the Hampton Roads area since 2000. Call him today at 757-671-7063 or stop by his office at 4525 South Boulevard, Suite 300 in VB. (Website photo)
For more than 20 years, Dr. Thomas OHara and his staff have been serving Virginia Beach. If the dentist's chair makes you uneasy, don't worry--his dental hygienists make sure your cleaning is a gentle, caring experience. Our classmates who are patients of Dr. OHara are a testament to his professional work. You only get one set of teeth--so don't brush off dental hygiene. Visit Dr. OHara at 243 Mustang Trail #9 in VB. Or call 757-340-1153 and tell him the PA Class of 88 sent ya!
Who doesn't love pizza?! We'd like to thank California Pizza Kitchen general manager Mike San Juan for his generous donation. Mike's a pro in the restaurant business, and he's had his heart set on the restaurant/culinary arts since he was a kid. My personal favorite on the CPK menu is the BBQ pizza, but they can please pretty much any set of taste buds. And, if you're in VB, you know there's now one in the Town Center area--right near the high school! So the next time you're jonesing for a Jamaican Jerk Chicken pizza or you're gotta have a Habanero Carnitas pie, know that one of our classmates helped put it on your plate! (CPK photo)
We'd like to give a special thanks to Inspirations Unique Gift Gallery--the first gift donor for our 25th reunion! Fans of the store will tell you that's it's a wacky, wild place to shop for anything fun or functional. They even have scavenger-type hunts in the store--how cool is that? They're at 2137 Upton Drive Ste. 304 in VB, part of Red Mill Commons. Inspirations is open 7 days a week. Call 757-563-8844 - ask for Heather and tell her the PA Class of 88 sent ya! (Facebook photo)
Thanks to the Hampton Roads Lacrosse League for its donation to our reunion efforts. Lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and Virginia is one of the leading states when it comes to the sport's popularity. Lacrosse is played up and down much of the East Coast and in parts of the Midwest. If your child is considering playing a sport, give HRLAX a try. According to recent NCAA Division I data, women’s lacrosse ranks second in graduation success rates (94%) among women's sports and men’s lacrosse ranks first (88%) among men’s NCAA sports. How's that for incentive?! (Website photo)
Thanks to Ruby Tuesday and classmate Keith Berger for their donation! They're known for restaurant fundraisers--so if your school or kids' group needs a hand, contact the Ruby Tuesday near you for details. Lunch, brunch, dinner, even catering--Ruby Tuesday can whet any appetite. If you know Keith, you know he's a restaurant pro who used to own his own establishment! Ruby Tuesday chefs even claim to peek out from the kitchen to make sure you're enjoying their art work (i.e. your dinner). If you catch any of them peering at your plate at one of their 12 Hampton Roads locations, wave and tell them the PA Class of 88 said hi! (Facebook photo)
